Remco Tuns

For almost 15 years, Remco Tuns was the lead singer and one of the songwriters for the melodic punk rock band Note to Amy. After the band called it quits in 2020, he took a (black) sabbatical from music. Time to let the dust settle and quietly sketch out the next steps of his musical journey. Hadn’t he secretly been a singer-songwriter all along?

In late 2024, Remco locked himself away in a mobile home. Surrounded by silence and in solitude, he finally found the time to face inner demons and write songs in their purest form.

“I believe even the hardest times can lead to something beautiful: songs. Tunes that bring comfort or joy to others, or at least, that’s what I hope.”

Influences for these new songs are eclectic: Neutral Milk Hotel, The Weakerthans, Bruce Springsteen, The National, The Handsome Family, Jason Isbell, Phoebe Bridgers, Simon & Garfunkel, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Nick Drake, local Dutch hero broeder Dieleman but also Bad Religion (in Remco’s humble opinion the greatest band on earth).

2025 will see the release of several singles and a debut EP. A first full-length album is set for early 2026.
