Reno Bo is a Nashville based, New York born songwriter, musician, producer, solo artist and founding member of rock band MARBLE JETS. On his fourth solo album NEVER NIGHT TIME ON THE SUN, Bo serves up another fine amalgam of Beatle-esque pop, bluesy psychedelia, acoustic ballads, an rocker that could be mistaken for a lost Traveling Wilburys number and even a tune worthy of a 1940’s MGM flick.
“I originally intended for this to be a double album,” Bo explains, fretting a Hofner bass as he speaks. “It’s short-attention span theater out there these days so I decided to chop it up and make one album. Some of the other songs I’m using in Marble Jets. The rest will see the light of day on other projects at some point in the near future.”
Though NNTOTS is produced and written solely by Bo, he’s previously co-written songs with Nicole Atkins, Brendan Benson, Ruby Amanfu, Andrew Combs, Sadler Vaden and others. He’s toured playing bass with Frankie Ballard, fellow New Yorkers Albert Hammond Jr (The Strokes) and The Mooney Suzuki. On his debut album, HAPPENINGS AND OTHER THINGS, Bo worked with Fountains Of Wayne main man Adam Schlesinger (“Stacy’s Mom”, “That Thing You Do”.) He’s been seen and heard on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and famed British radio DJ John Peel’s “Peel Sessions” in the UK. If you have a keen eye, he can be spotted playing with The Mooney Suzuki in DreamWorks Pictures war satire TROPIC THUNDER, starring Jack Black, Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr.
