Retrofoguetes

Known throughout Brazil as one of the most virtuoso and conceptual groups of instrumental music from the independent scenario, The Retrofuguetes emerged in Salvador in 2002, from the breakup of the Dead Billies. Their style mixes elements of surf music, tango, mambo, jazz, polka and bossa nova, with a cinematic, comic strip and old TV series settings. The result is fun and extremely visual pop music.
In 2016, they released Enigmascope - Volume 1. Considered by the musicians to be the most mature album in these 15 years of the band, it brings 13 composed and recorded tracks to work as the soundtrack of an imaginary espionage fi lm. In the neologism between enigma and cinemascope comes the name of the album already released on compact disc and digital platforms.

Now, after 20 years on the road, the band latest work “The New Hypnotic Wave of Retrofoguetes” is now available on the main streaming platforms.
The disc includes 3 unpublished tracks recorded, mixed and mastered by Tadeu Mascarenhas at Estúdio Casa das Máquinas in 2020, and the track “Telemetria”, previously released as a single.
A few months ago, the album was released on a 7-inch vinyl compact by the North American label Otitis Media Records and is distributed nationally by record labels Reverb Brasil and Esta Noite Encarnarei.
