Chilean urban hip-hop foursome Rezonancia joined a local movement originated by acts such as Panteras Negras and La Pozze Latina in the early '90s. In 1996, members of a local hip-hop collective called La Rez decided to start their own project. DJ Tripio, X Ramírez, Sombra, and Don Margi performed live for the first time as Rezonancia in 1997. After signing with Krater, a Sony Music-associated label, Zorprezaun was recorded and released on October 15, 1999.
