Rheinzand is a collaborative project between three of Belgium’s finest “multis”: multi-instrumentalist and composer/producer Reinhard Vanbergen (Das Pop), multi-lingual singer/songwriter Charlotte Caluwaerts (Tundra), and multi-genre DJ and sound artist Mo Disko of the renowned duo The Glimmers. The Ghent-based trio, accompanied live by drummer Stéphane Misseghers (dEUS) and bassist Bruno Coussée (MannGold), captures hearts and dancefloors with their psychedelic, song-based Nu-disco.
Rheinzand’s songs give nods to old and new genres, forgotten and popular scenes, and explore sounds ranging from disco and pop to rock and new wave. Think lavish melodies, vivid instrumentation, and affective songwriting woven together with flawless production and passionate force.
The band released their self-titled debut album in March 2020. Piccadilly Records (Manchester) voted ‘Rheinzand’ the #1 album of 2020.
