PBR Streetgang are <a href="spotify:artist:4XVeCeaFjz9Is3JMAouRkz">Bonar Bradberry</a> and Tom Thorpe, two Leeds-based DJs and producers who make disco/boogie-infused house music. The duo met while hunting for records in Birmingham, England, and after immediately bonding over similar musical tastes, they soon began DJ'ing together. By 2003, they started a residency at Leeds' Club Mint, which they titled Asylum, and they named themselves PBR Streetgang, a reference to the classic Vietnam War-themed film Apocalypse Now. <a href="spotify:artist:4XVeCeaFjz9Is3JMAouRkz">Bradberry</a> began releasing solo productions in late 2007, and PBR Streetgang's debut record, Never Get Off the Boat, soon followed in early 2008 on Croatian label <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Red+Music+Records%22">Red Music Records</a>. Both tracks on the 12" sampled <a href="spotify:artist:7bu3H8JO7d0UbMoVzbo70s">the Cure</a>, adding a dark post-punk edge to the group's otherwise sunny disco-house sound. This was soon followed by Busy Bee later in the year, on the same label. The duo continued releasing EPs on labels such as <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Hot+Creations%22">Hot Creations</a>, <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%2220%3A20+Vision%22">20:20 Vision</a>, and <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Futureboogie%22">Futureboogie</a>, in addition to remixing songs by <a href="spotify:artist:6jOz2B9qeID4dLP1o8bFGf">Crazy P</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1xKryNto8SDKl2E6lBs23J">Romanthony</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4aS7S2ESEryZfhTWcSgLXk">Maxxi Soundsystem</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:00FQb4jTyendYWaN8pK0wa">Lana Del Rey</a>, and others. In 2013, they toured North America for the first time, and brought their decade-long Asylum series to a conclusion with a closing party featuring <a href="spotify:artist:7nqpEU6DCHkNtK1bYsyS3W">Kerri Chandler</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4T6l995AHz8HCY7TCfQorD">Maurice Fulton</a>. Their Achilles EP appeared on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Throne+of+Blood%22">Throne of Blood</a> in 2014, and Cosine, a collaboration with <a href="spotify:artist:1mlZXof4sEGLFspPzlQdFL">X-Press 2</a>, was released by <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Futureboogie%22">Futureboogie</a> in 2015. In addition to further releases on labels like <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Toy+Tonics%22">Toy Tonics</a> and <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Crosstown+Rebels%22">Crosstown Rebels</a>, the duo signed to the legendary Brighton-based dance label <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Skint+Records%22">Skint Records</a> in 2017. PBR Streetgang's debut full-length, Late Night Party Line, arrived in 2018, featuring guests such as Mattie Safer (formerly of <a href="spotify:artist:166Dz1GX3xonSQ3Z6CQW26">the Rapture</a>), <a href="spotify:artist:3o9aGlbiiz7yc4mIAQvRYL">Danielle Moore</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:6jOz2B9qeID4dLP1o8bFGf">Crazy P</a>), and <a href="spotify:artist:3LijUg92GG1XomQ1OkuvfD">Ron Basejam</a>. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
