Rhombus Index

Rhombus Index is an ambient, soundscape and experimental electronic music producer. There is an undercurrent in his sound that pulls the listener towards a more classical dance music orientation, whilst still maintaining a strong element of electronic composition and sound art in the experience.

Found sound is a strong building block in much of his work. The spaces around the West Yorkshire countryside provide a bounty of field recordings that are processed into synth like sounds or mangled into obtuse percussion. A variety of arpeggio driven sequences, percussive synth patches and long evolving melodies are also present in his work, coupled with a commitment to concept that is a driving force behind many of his creations. Random input, sonification and generative techniques also play a succinct role in his work. Used for creating both sounds and compositional elements.

Rhombus Index also spends time making generative and audio reactive visuals to accompany his musical works. Maintaining the glitched and digital aesthetic which flows through his sound.
