I don’t remember where I heard this quote for the first time but every song I’ve ever written is an effort to keep some memory, some place, some part of me, or some part of my hometown - alive.
I grew up in a small town in Michigan and what I love now, I hated then. Now - as time wears on me more and more - I am constantly aware of how that town changed me and shaped me. Along the way, there have been a number of people who have been instrumental in my journey. Some are still here and some have gone to the other side. But no matter where they’re at now, they’ve shaped my life in more ways than I can count.
These songs are love letters to a town that never quit, and mementos from times, people and places that stayed with me long after they were gone.
