Inspired by the Rock, Folk, Blues, and Jazz genres and artists all across the 20th century, Richard Roberts got his start entertaining friends and family with as many instruments as he could learn to play. Although they may not have found it entertaining at the time, a cathartic hobby turned quickly into long sessions of music theory study, and hard practice. As time went on, he began writing and recording his own music, typically playing every instrument on the track.
With a strong focus on harmony and melody, Richard's music is romantic in nature, and his lyrics follow in theme. His tracks often feature a lot of vocal work, and often feature the acoustic guitar. He believes that "If you can play a song on just the acoustic guitar and sing along, it's a good song."
Mixed with his degree in Film, Richard proudly wears the moniker of "Jack of All Trades" and is currently petitioning to officially change the phrase to "Richard of All Trades." If you want to join the effort and sign his petition, follow the link below to show your support!
