“I love fingerstyle guitar! I’ve been doing it for most of my life! I create arrangements of music with melody, bass lines, counterpoint and other embellishments all on one instrument! I’ve developed a unique approach to distill my favorite songs and tunes down to their essential elements and combine them onto the guitar's six strings in a manner that expresses the soul of that piece and allows me to put my personality into the fresh interpretation."
Offering up performances of some of the best acoustic guitar music arrangements in the southwest, Rick Cyge has been doing what he loves for his entire life! He cut his teeth performing as a singer/guitarist in the vibrant New England folk music scene of the 70-80s. Since then, he performs in Arizona both solo and with his wife and partner, flutist Lynn Trombetta as the group ‘Meadowlark’ where Cyge plays acoustic steel string, nylon string guitar and mandolin.
As one of Arizona’s best acoustic guitarists, the community voted Cyge “Best Musician in Sedona” in KUDOS Reader’s choice awards. There he has become well known for his live solo fingerstyle guitar performance and his subtle and intricate arrangements of popular tunes by
artists like The Beatles, James Taylor, Elton John and Simon and Garfunkel. His discography includes both CD and digital releases of three solo fingerstyle guitar albums including a Beatles cover album, nine Meadowlark albums and over 30 original and cover digital singles. Enjoy!
