Rio Young is from London. He is a graduate of the University of East London, where he studied a BA Hons in music culture. Rio has an incredible USP - having worked extensively within the youth sector for a number of years, visiting a variety of PRU’s (pupil referral units), prisons & schools with an organisation that aims to empower, encourage & support disengaged young people from underprivileged sections of society, his lyrics reflect so much of what he’s witnessed – he’s a truly positive role model.
Rio has teamed up with the exceptional producer Alex E to create his latest release - the lead track is ‘VERTIGO’ feat. Leke - and, there is the B:Side ‘GET BACK’ feat. rising UK YouTube sensation Talia Mar. Rio’s debut EP was supported by the likes of Shortee Blitz & MK (Kiss FM), BBC Introducing LDN and BBC Radio 1Xtra. Zane Lowe even tipped Rio as a ‘Future Radio 1’ prospect.
