Genreless and unapologetically raw, RMR (pronounced “Rumor”) broke onto the scene with the viral 2020 hit “RASCAL,” reimagining a Rascal Flatts ballad into a trap-laced, soul-bearing anthem. Behind a signature ski mask and bulletproof vest, he challenged expectations of what vulnerability in hip-hop and R&B could look like. Hailing from the Twin Cities, RMR crafts music that blurs the lines between country, rap, gospel, and alternative R&B — always led by emotion, not convention.
Following the success of his debut EP Drug Dealing Is a Lost Art, RMR expanded his artistic vision with Tribune, a 2024 album steeped in themes of heartbreak, faith, and survival. He’s collaborated with genre-spanning heavyweights including Future, Lil Baby, Young Thug, Wiz Khalifa, Tech N9ne, and Timbaland — yet no matter the company, he keeps his own emotional core front and center.
Now, with his upcoming EP TWIX, RMR dives deeper into the idea of duality — exploring love and loss, faith and failure, the left and right sides of life while letting the audience in just enough. With haunting melodies and genre-bending production, TWIX cements RMR as a true original: a voice for the misunderstood, and a movement in disguise.
