On 20th July 2024, Hong Kong Hardcore Punk trio ROKKASEN releases 'We Feast'.
While ROKKASEN's debut 7" 'Staring at The Moon With Feelings' was largely written in two hours and tracked in not much more time, 'We Feast' was meticulously crafted over the span of two years.
Over its brisk 15-minute runtime, 'We Feast' pays tribute to the Internet memes, fast food, video games and horror films that make up the eclectic culture which members of ROKKASEN have immersed themselves in through the years. Musically, 'We Feast' packs the speed and exuberance of Hardcore Punk as well as the heft, grit and low-end chug of Death Metal that has inspired the band's three individuals for the decades in numerous projects they have been involved with.
'We Feast' was recorded in different DIY spaces and home studios around Hong Kong before being mixed and mastered (between ORCHiD's reunion shows) by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air in Western Massachusetts for maximum sonic attack and clarity.
