As the story goes, Ron Holden got his break into the music business when, after being arrested on charges of marijuana and alcohol possession, a police officer in the station heard him singing and told Holden to call him after he was released. That police officer was Larry Nelson, who was leaving the force to start his own label, and released Holden's first debut song, "Love You So," in 1960, which made it up to number seven on the Pop Singles chart that same year. Donna Records bought the rights to the song and released an LP, but none of the following singles had as much success as "Love You So," and Holden soon retired, though in 1994 Love You So was reissued by Del-Fi. ~ Marisa Brown, Rovi
