Noted lyricist Ronaldo Bastos is known mainly for his partnerships with Milton Nascimento. But he also proved to be a competent producer -- through his label Dubas Música, he was in charge of the albums Clube da Esquina 2 (Milton Nascimento) and Amor de Índio (Beto Guedes), having being awarded for his productions for these composers and also for his work for Nana Caymmi and Toninho Horta. Bastos wrote lyrics for several other composers like Lulu Santos ("Um Certo Alguém"), Marina Lima, Edu Lobo, Toninho Horta, Caetano Veloso, João Donato, Djavan, Tom Jobim, and Beto Guedes. Ney Matogrosso recorded his "Olhos de Farol" (with Flávio Henrique) on his album of the same title.
Bastos also had success writing interpretations that were recorded by Gal Costa ("Nada Mais," of Stevie Wonder's "Lately"), Beto Guedes ("Quando Te Vi," best-known from the Beatles' "Till There Was You"), and Sarah Vaughan ("Nothing Will Be As It Was," of his and Milton's "Nada Será Como Antes").
