Rooftop J (born Jari Marain on November 9th, 1997) is a Belgian rapper/songwriter, originating from Bruges, Belgium. After releasing his debut single “Momma Told Me” in October of 2018, the Bruges native put out another hit-sensitive project titled “White Goose”, which became widely popular in a short period of time thanks to Spotify’s Discover Weekly and Release Radar. Since then, Rooftop J has released 31 tracks as an independent artist while consistently working with childhood friend and producer Yung Offender.
In his relatively short career, Rooftop J has amassed more than one million total streams on Spotify, is regularly being featured on both domestic and international blogs, has gained AirPlay on Studio Brussel, MNM, WILLY & RBS-Radio and is frequently added to 'New Music Friday BE' and 'Code 32' a Spotify editorial playlist for the best Hip Hop music in Belgium. On December 10th, 2020 and 2022, the MC was selected for Humo’s Rock Rally, where he made it to the quarter-finals of the competition. Luminous Dash, a well known, Belgian music blog wrote the following about the rapper’s performance at the Rock Rally:
