The Names Tarono & Macho came in a daydream. The stage aliases belong to brothers Phillip Jacques and Felix Jacques, twin siblings born and raised in Brooklyn—a hip-hop mecca that produced some of rap’s foremost contenders.

But the Jacques brothers, who make up
Tarono & Macho aren’t your typical MCs. These Generation Z vocalists emerge as jacks-of-all-trades, with a passion for storytelling via singsong wordplay and melodious rhyme schemes (Drake, The Weeknd).

To avoid the risk of idle comparison, it should be noted that Tarono & Macho – of Haitian descent – wield their intrinsically tropical tongues to musically creolize the stylings of their vocals atop equally haunting beats, giving them an edge over the multitude of contemporaries trying to make it to the big time, using the Web as their basis.

In person, the two appear young and modest, and speak with a dulcet twang. On wax, they knowingly fan the flames of their personal truths, which run the gamut of human emotion.

Tarono & Macho began to pull pen across pad as early as 12. It was then that the pair recognized their love of rhyming and were almost instantly motivated by their own family to pursue a career in music.
