Rosetta West is a blues rock band from Illinois. Their music frequently includes elements of psychedelia and world folk music, and their lyrical themes often venture into mysticism and spirituality. Their new release, "Resurrection," is a sprawling collection of raw and wildly diverse gems, including strange blues rock, punk and funk, emotional acoustic songs and piano ballads. On this latest release, founder and songwriter Joseph Demagore handles vocals, guitars and piano. Mike Weaver takes turns with Nathan Q. Scratch on drums, and Rosetta West veteran Orpheus Jones plays bass. The song “Ear To The Ground” features a special guest appearance by the great young sax player Ieshua Covarrubias. Rosetta West has maintained a long, unconventional and fiercely independent underground career. They have fans around the world and their many non-Spotify releases are well worth seeking out on Bandcamp, YouTube, haunted shipwrecks, graveyards, and other platforms.
