Australian born Rosemary Ribbons first found fame on ITV’s 2001 talent show, Pop Idol. Initially billed as a favourite to win the competition, Ribbons placed sixth behind series winner, Will Young.
Following her success on Pop Idol, Ribbons signed a five album deal with Telstar Records. This saw Ribbons embark on sold-out tours with the likes of Liberty X and Blue while releasing two UK Top 20 singles, Blink and A Little Bit.
By this point, Rosie was on the cusp of stardom with her debut album, Misbehaving, scheduled for release in late 2003. But, as a result of Telstar Records’ financial problems and the label going into liquidation, the record was shelved.
Though, this did not stop Ribbons from pursuing her career in music.
In 2007 she competed in the fifth series of Australian Idol, placing in the Top 24, before going on to record and release more music including Turning Point, featuring MOBO Award winner MC Neat, and All Falls Down with Ed Sheeran.
