Rossa (Dato’ Sri Rossa) is widely known as the “Queen of Pop of Indonesia.” She is an Indonesian singer whose career has spanned generations and who is renowned for her timeless voice and her ability to thrive from the cassette era through the streaming age. She started singing at the age of seven and released a children’s album at the age of nine. With more than 12 million records sold, she is among Indonesia’s best-selling artists of all time. She has earned more than 123 awards, making her one of the most awarded Indonesian artists in history. She has contributed to more than 172 soundtracks, staged over 100 concerts, and achieved 130 number-one radio hits.
Since 1999, her albums have been released across Southeast Asia and Japan. Her compilation album The Best of Rossa ranks third on Indonesia’s all-time best-selling albums list, with more than 5 million copies sold. Her solo album Love, Life & Music broke MURI and ASIRI records as the highest-selling Indonesian album in a single day, with more than 100,000 CDs sold. In 2018, she received the Planet Muzik Special Award (Legend Award) from Anugerah Planet Muzik, becoming the first Indonesian artist to receive this distinction. In 2019, Rossa joined SM Entertainment, a South Korean entertainment company. She was also honored as Pop Icon by TVRI in 2025 and won the Asia Legendary Music Icon Award at the Top 10 Asia Artist Awards, further cementing her status as the first Indonesian artist to achieve these honors.
