Rubi

St. Louis duo Rubi have lived as musicians for their entire young lives. Sisters Bella and Lily Ibur started singing before they could talk and took up their first instruments before they started kindergarten. With a musician father and a mother who paints, they were taught to appreciate every form of art and music. This, along with their ability to tell stories, has contributed to Rubi’s evolution as musicians. Rubi delivers a unique sound that sometime brightens with ironic pop-hop sounds, then turns sharply into a deeper haunting mood with interpolating elements of R&B.

Formerly known as Bella & Lily, they released their first EP, Count to Ten, in 2013. Produced by Henry Hirsch (Lenny Kravitz, Madonna, Mick Jagger), the EP enjoyed critical acclaim that led to their music landing on 14 different television programs and breakout song “Chase the Moon” earning 3 rd place in the International Songwriting
Competition.
Today, Rubi introduces a more mature sound, relating personal life experiences and evoking a true sense of the fierce, women that the Ibur sisters have become.
Their long-awaited new single, “Jeans,” produced by Doctor Rosen Rosen (Meg Meyers, Lily Allen, Weezer) reflects a relatable subject matter that promises to lead the listener on a journey of self-reflection and discovery.
It’s the start of what is sure to be a bright future for Rubi.
