Ruby Runway is an indie rock band from Newcastle, NSW. The band consists of Anna Pop who writes the lyrics and vocal melodies, and Matt Cross who creates the arrangement and musical composition. The music they write ranges from soft rock ballads and blues-based rock, through to boppy tunes and straight-up headbangers.
They take inspiration from a variety of sources when writing their music, such as their relationships, books, day-to-day work, different locations, and other music.
Their debut single, ‘I Wanna Lose My Mind’, is an upbeat, carefree track well-suited for road-trips, which was inspired by some of Franz Ferdinand’s guitar riffs. Their second single, ‘Trouble’, is a catchy rock song with elements of country and swing, which was inspired by Stephanie Garber’s novel, ‘Caraval’. Their latest release, ‘In The Sand’, is a sentimental ballad about the uncertain future of a relationship.
They have more songs ready to be released soon and an album in the works, so stay tuned!
