Duo Rùnya was officially founded by Bonatesta sisters (Arianna and Diana) in 2015.
In 2014, Arianna Bonatesta (piano) and Diana Bonatesta (viola) graduated with honours with their Duo formation in Chamber Music – Biennio Specialistico di II livello (II levels’ specialized two-years period) at Conservatorio G. Briccialdi (exceptionally attending B. Lupo and A. Kravtchenko’ Masterclass) in 2014.
As Duo Rùnya, they graduated in chamber music at High Perfection’s Academy of Fiesole and at High Perfection’s Academy of Music “Trio di Trieste”, under the lead of Trio di Parma.
Duo Rùnya won the second prize at Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition 2017 in Salzburg and performed at Wiener Musik Saal of Mozarteum in Salzburg.
In 2016, for the label Aevea/Naxos, Duo Rùnya recorded on its first CD Rebecca Clarke’s works for viola and piano.
The CD has been globally distributed and it has been awarded great reviews on prestigious magazines as The Strad, Gramophone U.K., and Diapason Magazine (in which it has been awarded a Five Stars Review).
Currently, Duo Rùnya plays in the most prestigious Seasons for Chamber Music as “Filarmonica Umbra”, “Gli Amici del Teatro de La Scala”, “Forlì Open Music”, “Ravello Festival”, “Ravenna Festival”, “Festival Casa Menotti” in Spoleto (Festival dei Due Mondi).
