Much of Sara L. Houser’s recent career has been defined by her behind the scenes roles as a frequently sought after collaborator in the studio world and as a touring musician for big name acts Zella Day and Matthew Logan Vasquez. Her upcoming record, Hibiscus, is a spyglass look into the mind of a self-described recovering workaholic - someone who often pours most of their energy into work and leaves little for themself. The 6 song EP, to be released November 3rd, 2023 via Spaceflight Records, covers the full spectrum of what living that way can do to an artist.

Leading single and KUTX favorite “Wind in the Door” is the record’s highest octane performance. A song to light your stuff on fire and start anew to. Its release was followed by the cooling “Dotted Line”, a reflection on not living up to self-imposed standards - both songs informed by indie rock giants of the early aughts. The third and final single "When I Want To" will be available on all streaming platforms September 22, 2023. Recommended listening for fans of Mitski, The Smile and Sharon Van Etten.
