Born in Utrecht, the Netherlands, Coen van Hessen grew up in a musical family. From performing in a classical orchestra to experimenting with electronic sounds as a child, his journey into music began early. Together with childhood friend Sander, he started DJ’ing under the name Saco – a combination of their initials – and quickly built a reputation in Utrecht with events that drew hundreds of teenagers.
After pausing his musical path to study medicine, Coen returned as Saco: producer, songwriter, and artist. His debut single Stranger in Paradise (2019, Soave Records) became a breakthrough success, amassing millions of streams, charting in Spotify’s Viral 50 Netherlands, and gaining national TV exposure.
Today, Saco is known for his fresh, melancholic, and summery sound. In 2022, he broke through internationally with Gotta Give Me, which dominated the Romanian Top 40 for nearly a year. Splitting his time between music and his career as a doctor, Saco continues to carve out a unique space on the international stage.
