SAEKO is the one & only international power metal act led by Japanese singer Saeko Kitamae.
Formed in Germany in 2003, SAEKO gained early recognition with its debut and tours with DORO, then made history at Wacken Open Air 2005—the first Asian female musician there.
After a long silence, SAEKO returned in 2021 with an international lineup:

・Guido Benedetti (Trick or Treat) – Gt.
・Alessandro Sala (Rhapsody of Fire) – Ba.
・Michael Ehré (The Unity, Gamma Ray) – Dr.

With Saeko’s voice and songwriting, they deliver powerful, melodic metal shaped by a cross-cultural journey.

In her Japanese podcast “SAEKO Monogatari,” Saeko tells the story behind the music:
from handing out flyers in Europe to the Wacken stage—
a burning tale of Japanese pride and love of freedom forged in sound✨
On Spotify (Japanese audio only).
