SAIREN is a multilingual recording artist who is embracing the skin of new motherhood in her musical identity, challenging ideas about femininity in pop music. Hailing from Shanghai, Montreal, and North Carolina, she draws inspiration from nature, her cultural roots, and now her beloved baby son Cosmo (王酷书). Named after the cosmos, he is a vivid reminder for her of the infinite fire and dream of life, and she shares her artistry with him on their shared journey as mother and son, artist and muse.
Her debut single "Masked in Love" is a playful ode to the era of masking, while paying homage to the beloved synth sounds of the 80s, featuring production by PHILJP. It is written by her longtime collaborator G, who as songwriter, film/creative director, and manager has played a vital and non-traditional role in shaping her sound and visual identity - one that is truly artist-driven and free of label politics owing from the intimate trust in their collaboration. She is repped under the independent multidisciplinary label Omnificent.
