Sally Herbert is an acclaimed arranger, composer and conductor whose string work has shaped some of the biggest records in British pop over the last three decades. After performing on Manic Street Preachers’ A Design For Life, she became the go-to orchestrator for artists including Oasis, Radiohead, Texas, Travis, Florence + The Machine and London Grammar, while also scoring film, television and video game projects. A former member of The Communards’ touring string section, Herbert later formed the duo Banderas, whose hit This Is Your Life became a defining track of the early 1990s.
Now stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Herbert launches her own music with debut single BADE, featuring longtime collaborator Jimmy Somerville. Blending haunting electronics, cinematic strings and emotionally charged vocals, the track explores themes of transition, loss and transformation. Deeply atmospheric yet intimate in tone, BADE introduces Herbert’s distinctive solo sound — drawing together the worlds of orchestral composition, electronic production and alternative pop that have defined her remarkable career behind the scenes.
