Salomon Pikes – that’s Phil (guitar and vocals), Lea (vocals), Dome (bass), and Niklas (drums). This charming quartet from Wolfenbüttel and Salzgitter has been writing and performing music together since December 2023. With their unique blend of folk and indie rock, they won the “Salzig Bandcontest 2024,” the biggest band contest in the Salzgitter region. Not long after, they went on to claim third place at the state finals of the “Local Heroes” newcomer competition.
Even before singer Lea completed the lineup, Phil, Dome, and Niklas had already been playing as street musicians. Always with them: a salamander as their mascot, which still features in the band’s logo today. Whether on the streets of Lower Saxony, at city festivals, or at newcomer band contests – the four captivate their audience with original songs that range from heartfelt to powerfully rousing. Both lyrics and music emerge through collaborative jamming and freestyling sessions. Around a dozen tracks have already come to life this way. Their sound is inspired by bands like The Lumineers, Oasis, or early Fleetwood Mac, but also carries the influence of rock’n’roll legends like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.
