Salt Lake Alley is an indie pop band hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, known for their self-described "orthodox indie pop" sound. The group initially began as a duo, comprising Gustav Tranback (formerly of Paper Hearts and Dismal Plight) and Mikael Carlsson (formerly of The Honeydrips and Dorotea). Their music has been characterized as reminiscent of "Teenage Fanclub swapping Sarah singles with Popsicle."
Over time, Salt Lake Alley expanded into a four-piece ensemble, welcoming Fredrik Jalker (of Boa Constrictor) and Thomas Aherne (of The Garlands) into their lineup. The band draws inspiration from a range of influential artists, including Felt, Orange Juice, Teenage Fanclub, Popsicle, McCarthy, and The Wedding Present.
In February 2022, Salt Lake Alley released their second album, "It Takes Two," which continued their celebration of various jangle-pop nuances.
Salt Lake Alley is now preparing to release their third album, further solidifying their presence in the indie pop scene.
