Sam Balson

Sam Balson is a Canadian, Folk Singer-Songwriter based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Sam has been a life-long musician who grew up in a musical family, he originally hails from Bowmanville, Ontario.
Balson crafts a bold, earthy style of folk music that ebbs and flows with a timeless heart and soul. A multi-talented instrumentalist, comfortable on guitar, banjo and mandolin; his solos and unique instrumentals always earn him rave reviews from fans and fellow musicians alike.

Performing with a single guitar is where Sam feels most at home and his distinct gravelly vocals are the perfect accompaniment to his playing. His songwriting weaves timeless tales of family, friendship and love lost and found.
At the end of 2020 Sam released his soul stirring single "Shutters". Ear To The Ground praised the song, "A lyrical style that ebbs and flows with rich thoughtful lines between electric guitar lines that speak for themselves"

His follow up single “Raking Leaves On Broadway” is a beautiful ode to Traditional Bluegrass & Americana and is set to release on March 19th, 2021.
