Sam Turpin is an artist from Johannesburg, South Africa. After his mother passed away in 2011, he began to use rap and music while still in school as a way to express emotion. In 2020 he released "Cloud City" before collaborating with film director Katya Abedian-Rawháni on their short film "Sahara Flow" which premiered on London's Nataal Media. In 2022, Turpin played in the POST POST digital concert organised by Music-in-Africa and Tshepang Ramoba of BLK JKS and released "Broken Mirror", collaborating on the art with Japanese artist Keisuke Nakayama. Sam was featured on The Charles Géne Suite's debut album "Suite Nites", appearing on two tracks and one music video for "Whiskey Music". In November 2022, Sam travelled to Cape Town to perform at two shows, Selective Live and The Lightning Bolt Festival. In January 2023, the Suite Nites album featuring Sam was released in Japan as an exclusive, deluxe physical edition through Paraphernalia Records and Disk Union.
