Sample Kulture is a future soul duo that sews jazz, electronic, pop, and hip-hop into a warm blankie. Lush female vocals emerge from vinyl textures, lofi electric pianos, and crunchy synths. Inspired by broken beats, huge synths, and modern jazz, Andrew Stephen and Chrissy Renick formed Sample Kulture in 2019. The debut release of their arrangement of "Summer Breeze" (Seals and Crofts) rapidly garnered attention and what started out as a small project quickly turned into a full blown collaboration. Challenging the notion of what constitutes soul, the two put forth their vocal heavy, synth laden experiment in jazz, pop, and beyond.
