A post/experimental metal band from Toronto, Sarin have been bringing their brand of crunchy, emotive metal to audiences since 2012. Drawing on the works of bands like Neurosis, ISIS and - to a subtle extent - Radiohead, Sarin are pushing the heavy aesthetic into realms less explored by down-tuned guitars, guttural vocals and pounding drums. The band prides itself on continuous evolution: While 2015's Burial Dream was an ode to the post-metal giants of years passed, 2017's Darker Lakes (released on Zegema Beach Records [NA] and Dingleberry Records [EU]) expanded the palette with electronics and more experimental arrangements. Their new record, You Can't Go Back (Prosthetic Records), continues the tradition of left-turns with more direct songwriting and a greater emphasis on heavy riffs.
