SARTRAMUS is a Belgian melodic death metal project founded in 2020 by <a href="spotify:artist:4t8aApolYyhDAUR6qClGUJ" data-name="Christophe Herreman">Christophe Herreman</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:1XRhUgCyzIdeT8d9KMfeDR" data-name="Aborted">Aborted</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1TcI4FVIw5zy3ovxJmx9T3" data-name="Liar">Liar</a>) and Joeri Dekyvere (<a href="spotify:artist:1DyAEG7bqQ4z10HOBOW8sA" data-name="All I Know">All I Know</a>). United by a shared passion for the raw energy and captivating melodies of the 90s Gothenburg style, they set out on a new musical endeavour that would pay homage to their influences while forging their own path forward.
They were joined by Pieter Dewulf (<a href="spotify:artist:4uiaTNhrPBkBKT32oW0Cxp" data-name="Röt Stewart">Röt Stewart</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1AZLPKMQQJVXyMSJg87pqG" data-name="Chalice">Chalice</a>) on vocals, Diederik Claes (Firestone) on bass and Niek Verstraete (founding member of <a href="spotify:artist:1XRhUgCyzIdeT8d9KMfeDR" data-name="Aborted">Aborted</a>) on guitars. The band has since released a number of singles - including a cover of <a href="spotify:artist:6YXarbjg36ODFPez0PnOlD" data-name="At The Gates">At The Gates</a> 'Forever Blind' - and played occasional live gigs.
In 2023, Tom Demuynck (Leptotrichia, <a href="spotify:artist:5s8I11msXPlMPcakHYhM6j" data-name="Emeth">Emeth</a>, Mental Death) replaced Pieter Dewulf on vocals.
