Sea State a.k.a. Paul Foster von Kalben is an eclectic musician, singer-songwriter and producer from Uxbridge, Ontario Canada, known for his often melancholic, stylish adult indie pop.

Falling Down, his latest full length LP (2022) is a collection of 8 songs that pick up where Boy with a Gun left off: mellow but quietly cutting edge sophisticated indie pop, just left of center. Sonically, the record is immersive, smooth and warm with a gorgeous analog and vintage palette. Lyrically, it captures the present moment perfectly - long periods of time with little else to do but deep self examination, and the personal and relationship reckonings that naturally follow, or lead, as in this case. The record, entirely written, produced, and performed by Sea State, is a vulnerable, welcome return and richly rewarding listen - as if custom tailored for quiet mornings, rainy afternoons, or reflective late night headphone sessions.
