A German composer who played the oboe but whose principal instrument was the violin. He is known to have befriended the court Kappellmeister, Molter, in Karlsruhe. Bodinus served at the Baden court on a number of occasions acceding to the post of Konzertmeister. When composing, Bodinus's primary works were chamber pieces -- containing some parts for suites -- that included many solo and trio sonatas.
