Sergio Esposito

Pianist-composer-arranger, studied Piano and Improvisation with Enrico Pieranunzi and Arrangement and Composition for Jazz Orchestra with Giancarlo Gazzani.
A musician active in various sectors of music and enterteinment, he has worked in the jazz field by collaborating with various formations led by Bruno Biriaco (Saint Louis Big Band, Saxes Machines and Galaxy Big Band) from 1980 to 2015 and has performed in prestigious theatres and important television shows.
He also participated in a memorable session with Dizzie Gillespie.
He started working in recording studios at a very young age and for several years was hired by important tv channels and various theatre companies and has also shared his work with many masters.
Among others, he has collaborated with: Pino Daniele, Tullio De Piscopo, Irio De Paula, Eduardo De Crescenzo, Roberto Gatto, Alfredo Golino, Jimmy Knepper, Massimo Ranieri, Elvio Porta, Lina Sastri, Nash Jazz Group, James Senese & Napoli Centrale.
He has written and produced numerous commentary scores for tv shows and composed and arranged music for theatre, as well as arranged and conducted the orchestra at the Sanremo festival.
As a soloist he has released the albums "Thankin' You", "So Much" and "Sergio Esposito & Friends for Pino Daniele".
He has taught at the "Accademia V.Bellini" in Naples and the "Centro Jazz Saint Louis" in Rome and published the books "Scale Armonizzate per la Mano Destra del Pianista" and "Advanced Drop 2 Voicings For Jazz Piano".
