Shane Nicholson

Singer/songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:2VGE8KFAYM3yE0qOsDGf6t" data-name="Shane Nicholson">Shane Nicholson</a> first gained public attention as the lead singer/guitarist for rock band <a href="spotify:artist:5W4n6iGYZq8p5610w98FKF" data-name="Pretty Violet Stain">Pretty Violet Stain</a>. Interested in music from a young age, Nicholson formed the band while in high school &amp; eventually they released debut album <a href="spotify:album:0Ll8DByL09sLGr24jYZo4X" data-name="Parachutes &amp; Gravity">Parachutes &amp; Gravity</a> in 2000. Ultimately, Nicholson parted ways with the band &amp; released his debut solo album <a href="spotify:track:1b8VM4wVg1hgeBqlUtzHRe" data-name="It&#39;s A Movie">It&#39;s A Movie</a> in 2003 which ft. a duet with <a href="spotify:artist:6uATIQFyydDXPc2RlLzcUE" data-name="Kasey Chambers">Kasey Chambers</a>, whom Nicholson eventually married. His sophomore effort, <a href="spotify:album:03kIAKi74YMwO4i4H0KoGy" data-name="Faith &amp; Science">Faith &amp; Science</a>, followed in 2006. Two years later, Nicholson paired with Chambers for the album <a href="spotify:album:1Ixr9yU0u2IO3osyqVxv7c" data-name="Rattlin&#39; Bones">Rattlin&#39; Bones</a>. Also in 2008, he released third solo album, <a href="spotify:album:65nxTL1qdo56NOJApqBE4N" data-name="Familiar Ghosts">Familiar Ghosts</a>. In 2011, Nicholson returned with <a href="spotify:album:4jOu8uNXJL7O0aHMPnRbJm" data-name="Bad Machines">Bad Machines</a> album which earned him an ARIA &amp; 6 CMAA Nominations. In 2012, Nicholson &amp; Chambers released their second album as a duo with <a href="spotify:album:4y09e4d4aeJVdmi5dfYact" data-name="Wreck &amp; Ruin (Deluxe Version)">Wreck &amp; Ruin (Deluxe Version)</a> ft. single <a href="spotify:track:6P9AFsJIKI7t6G1FN4tmUP" data-name="Adam and Eve">Adam and Eve</a>. 2014 saw Nicholson release concert LP, <a href="spotify:album:0o4vWWxAvrfbVpkkY5kDeZ" data-name="Pitch, Roll &amp; Yaw (Live And Solo)">Pitch, Roll &amp; Yaw (Live And Solo)</a>. The following June, he dropped single &amp; ninth studio album <a href="spotify:album:6pVmwdo4sMY2vQpXHAEiPR" data-name="Hell Breaks Loose">Hell Breaks Loose</a> which dealt with the fallout from his 2014 divorce from Chambers. The record brought home an ARIA &amp; CMAA Award. Nicholson&#39;s tenth studio LP, <a href="spotify:album:5T6IKNXck8gx5oxaXWIEfX" data-name="Love And Blood">Love And Blood</a>, came in August 2017 &amp; earned him another CMAA award. Nicholson appeared as a music producer in ABC TV production The Recording Studio in April 2019. The music from the series won a 2019 ARIA Award. After spending 2020 producing for other artists, Shane will release his new album ‘Living In Colour’ in August 2021.
