Between 1976 and 1986 John Schumann was the lead singer and one of the two major songwriters for the Australian folk-rock band Redgum. Since then he has carved out a successful solo career and is now accompanied by his band, the Vagabond Crew. The band is an international class band with international class players. Julian Ferraretto, violin and mandolin (holds a doctorate from the Elder Conservatorium, Adelaide University). Matt McNamee joins on drums and percussion. Rohan Powell on guitar and vocals and Polly Politis on piano and vocals are Adelaide legends in their own right – widely acknowledged to be the best vocal section in the state. Anthony Thyer on electric guitar, harmonica, slide and vocals and Jamie Harrison on bass complete the line-up.
