Acclaimed PDX singer-songwriter Shawn Brown is celebrating the release of his newest EP - Into the Furious Light. The EP features three new singles, “Hold Fast, “Let Them Love You,” and “The Sad Ones.” Produced by Grecco Buratto (Shakira, Tegan and Sara, Loniel Richie), the EP is unquestionably Brown’s most raw and evocative work yet.
Instead of utilizing their tried-and-true Los Angeles based recording blue-print, Shawn Brown and Grecco Burratto chose to helm the project in Brown’s hometown of Portland. Recorded at The Panther Studio with famed musician/engineer Steve Drizos, this new EP is the first to feature Shawn Brown Band members Ben Landsverk, Jeff Langston and Ned Failing.
The Into the Furious Light EP has already been praised as Shawn Brown’s best work - vulnerably laying it all on the line with urgent, painstaking reflections on loss, sadness, resilience and redemption. His signature voice cuts deeper than ever, fueled by earnest, melodic arrangements calling to mind everything from Counting Crows and Lucinda Williams to Parry Griffin and Tom Petty. The result is an immensely cinematic and mature work that doesn’t shy away from harrowing explorations of hope through the darkness.
Into the Furious Light arrives hot off the heels of Shawn’s recent single “Road of Bones, which received widespread critical praise, radio play, an abundance of prominent playlist placements.
