SICKWALT is an unapologetic, positive, high-energy, in your face, rock ‘n’ roll band from Astoria Queens, NYC. Their sound captures the same explosive energy that all-time greats like- AC/DC, The Stooges, or MC5, channeled in their early work. SickWalt is a needed reminder of what rock n’ roll can be.
With Walt ‘Sick Walt’ as the dynamic frontman since day one, he has been backed by various NYC veteran musicians: band co-founder, Max Capshaw (Sick of it All, Murphy’s Law, H2O), legendary NYHC drummer Eric Arce (The Misfits, Murphy’s Law, Skarhead, Maximum Penalty), and guitarist Rob Buckley (Cro-Mags, Urban Sun, M-16).
Since being founded in 2014, SickWalt has earned a reputation on the New York scene as a live act to be reckoned with. They use stages like St. Vitus, The Bowery Electric, and The Mercury Lounge to send crowds into tailspins and are notoriously hard to follow. Just ask The Dickies or Richie Ramone. Just ask Agent Orange or D.O.A. or The Waldo’s or Handsome Dick and the Dictators. They’ll all tell you the same thing: playing with SickWalt makes for a legendary show.
"SICKWALT strikes me as the kind of band you really need to see live to appreciate fully, so if you get a chance to take in a performance by these guys, don't think about it, just hop to it. SickWalt is a rock-n-roll band first and foremost, but they're definitely influenced by good old-school punk rock, of that there is NO doubt.” -Robert Rose, PUNK OUTLAW
