Initially formed as a project band. Sidra first started venturing into different music genres, until they landed on pop-punk. With Ken and Kurt already having backgrounds in the genre, the transition was seamless. Jam (who at the time had no experience playing in a band) had become more expressive in her songwriting and singing, and Marc had more freedom in creating his own beats. And with the final addition of Bem to the band, Sidra found its identity. With influences from bands such as Paramore, State Champs, Neck Deep, and other pop-punk bands, the band offers a nostalgic yet modern sound.
As of now, Sidra has released their first single, "Predator," which is a first-person point of view of a victim of abuse. The song was written with the purpose of becoming a voice, to give light to their stories, which have been shrouded in doubt and fear, and to also give them strength and courage to stand against their perpetrators.
