Taking their name from a character in the Wonder Woman comics, San Francisco-based duo Silver Swans began making soft and sweet electronic pop together in 1997. Vocalist Ann Yu of the group LoveLikeFire and multi-instrumentalist Jon Waters started off working on one song together, but soon turned that into a more steady project. That song, "Realize the Ghost," was released as a single in 2009 on Tricycle Records and was followed by an eight-song EP of the same name, for the same label, in 2010. The duo self-released another EP, Secrets, that year, then took some time off before returning in late 2011 to cover a Fleet Foxes track, "He Doesn't Know Why," and making a bit of a splash with their cover of Lana Del Rey's "Video Games" in early 2012. Their full-length debut album, Forever, further refined their slickly produced sound on its release in 2012. By the time of their 2013 album, Touch, on Twentyseven, the duo had added a touch of chilly Chromatics-style disco to their sound and come up with their most interesting release to date. ~ Tim Sendra, Rovi
