Skjelsbæk is what happens when a Norwegian guitarist moves to Liverpool, starts a band, loses the singer twice and says "Screw it i´ll do it myself", ending up fronting a rock band with a name no one can pronounce.
Think Hendrix, Green Day, Kendrick (mainly Ewan this one) and Slash. Daniel Riley Skjelsbæk (vocals/lead guitar), Sam Makariou (rhythm guitar), and Ewan McDonough (drums) have played together since 2021, through more rehearsals, lineup changes, and dodgy gigs than they’d care to admit. In 2024, bassist Maxwell Burton joined the group, followed by Daniel’s brother Markus on keys, because nothing says "serious band" like keeping it in the family. Together, they’ve played many of Liverpool´s stickiest venues and are aiming to play the biggest and/or stickiest venues in the world.
Their debut single Hold On to Me is out now. It’s loud, it's honest, it´s just good music.
