SKYE

SKYE is a Rock-Pop band from Austria. The band members are Niklas Budinsky, 20 (lead singer and guitarist), Julian Auer, 20 (bass) and Alex Gruber, 21 (drums). Niklas is a 20-year-old singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. From age 14 to 18 he attended the Gymnasium of Music and Arts in Vienna to expand his skills. There he met Julian Auer, now bassist of SKYE. From then on they played numerous gigs with Alex Gruber (drums) and developed a strong live performance.
In 2016, Niklas signed a record deal with Freeminded Music. Since signing, he has been writing new songs for the debut album of SKYE either in Stockholm or in his studio in Vienna. During one of his first stays in the Swedish capital, he met Harry Sommerdahl, award-winning Swedish music producer and songwriter. Immediately a magical vibe appeared between the two, which resulted in the single "Tragic". The song, in its compositional and musical complexity, represents the talent of Niklas and Harry as a songwriter, and at the same time reflects the skill of the musicians.
Tragic was released as debut single of the band on 18.01.2019. It was an instant hit with the fans, rising to #2 on the Austrian Rock - iTunes charts in 24 hours and #47 on the Austrian iTunes charts!
As part of the PRO 7 show "MY HIT YOUR SONG", the band premiered on TV in January 2019. They covered two hits by Jason Derulo, who predicted a world career for them after the gig!
