Skyz the Free is an independent artist born in Chicago and raised in the south suburbs of Blue Island. Skyz's artistic journey began with a childhood spent immersed in video games before a deep love for music took hold. His genre-defying style of alternative hip hop emanates a warm, fresh feeling that envelops listeners.

Drawing from diverse musical influences ranging from Rock, Jazz, Soul to Lofi, Skyz crafted his own artistic vision. His music is a poetic and highly artistic amalgamation reflecting a deep commitment to the craft. Inspirations such as Tyler the Creator, Frank Ocean, Kota the Friend, J Cole and more, have shaped his unique sound.

His music journey started in 2009-2010 when he began writing music with close friends, but it was in 2017 when he fully devoted himself to the art form. In 2020, he released his debut single "Just a Dream," seamlessly capturing the attention of audiences. Soon after, his first EP, "The Self Project," showcased his growth and artistic prowess.

In 2021, Skyz unveiled his highly anticipated debut album, "Nights," which opened exciting new doors within the music industry. This helped him delve further into the creative process, deepening his understanding of music production.
