Slide Milligan

Slide Milligan is David Milligan — a singer‑songwriter, slide guitarist, and timber craftsman based on the NSW Central Coast. His music grows from the same raw, rugged roots as his sawmilling and rural construction business, Hard on Wood.

His debut album, Blood Red River (Foghorn Records, 2022), is an autobiographical statement — recorded after decades of building by day and songwriting by night. Critics called it “astonishing,” a psychedelic slide‑guitar masterpiece combining outlaw country, alt‑rock, and Aussie storytelling that “sounds familiar yet fresh.” The album shifts between swampy guitars and dark lyricism, drawing you in track by track — from haunting country‑blues on “Dead Man” to Lynchian textures on Blood Red River, post‑punk‑tinged drama in “Tomorrow’s Yesterday,” and the sun-soaked, surf-inspired Feelin’ Fine — a carefree love song that’s become a grassroots summertime anthem.
