Winners of the SAMA ‘Best Live Act’ Award 2024 and hailing from Gourock, on Scotland’s west coast, SLIX have developed into a well-honed, energetic live act since their 2022 alternative indie debut ep, Jingle Jangle. At home they have built a solid foundation thanks to their compelling live shows, performing at TRNSMT in 2023 and selling out Glasgow’s 600-capacity St Luke’s venue in March 2023.
They are also one of the only acts to have been booked two years running to showcase at Wide Days. This year they have also begun making a strong impact further afield with shows at Mad Cool Festival (Madrid), The Great Escape (Brighton), Future Echoes (Sweden), Twisterella Festival and Wise Festival (Berlin) and have just returned from their first full UK Tour supporting the LaFontaines.
Media coverage has been equally diverse, highlighting the band’s crossover appeal. It
includes Scotland on Sunday, DIY, Clash, BBC Radio 1, Radio Scotland, Tenement TV,
Mondo Sonoro and even Metal Hammer’s Spanish edition. Moreover, their track ‘With You’ was synced on UK reality TV show Made In Chelsea and their recent cover of Abba's "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" amassed over 400k views online.
SLIX take on Glasgow’s Art School on April 11th 2025, tickets on sale now.
“SLIX are the sort of guitar band you have secretly been longing for, but now the secret is out, it only makes sense to own it.” - CLASH Magazine.
“BANGER. That was wicked.” - Jack Saunders of BBC Radio 1 on Current Affairs.
