“I create music I’d like to listen to but I have trouble finding”,
says Chris, the 25 year old French “future garage” producer who is behind the Slow Valley project.
Developing an interest for music at a young age, he starts producing at around 16. Initially making hard-hitting electronic tracks, his vision takes a turn when he discovers the Los Angeles beat scene characterized by Joe Kay’s collective Soulection (Evil Needle, Esta, Sango) and Flying Lotus’ record label Brainfeeder (Thundercat, Samiyam, Mr.Oizo). Simultaneously, he creates the Slow Valley project as he finally manages to identify himself with the Future Beat scene. Getting truly inspired by Pascäal, Charles Murdoch and 123Mrk, he describes his music as a bridge between those three musical worlds. Faithful to the Roche Musique identity, his music is as well designed for dancing as for chilling to. Embodying layers of mellow and warm synthesizers with cadenced drums and without forgetting a hint of groove, his mind-blowing productions always combine energetic and relaxing sounds : an ambivalence echoing to Prrrrrrr records and Svnset Waves, on which he released his third EP Tesselate in 2019, a year after releasing his second one, Demure, on TheSoundYouNeed.
